We have 2 5220s, one production replicated to on at our DR site. I have been requested to rehydrate the DR appliance. Where can I find instructions on how to accomplish this and rehydration in general?
Another question: can the backup tapes that are rehydrated be used for restores or does the data have to be put back on the appliance before use?

We have a client that was recently added to netbackup and has been backed up with no problem for 2 weeks so far. I've been asked to change the clients hostname in windows, however, how do I go about doing this in netbackup?
The scheduled backups are not running for the past 4 days. The cron is running and alll other puredisk is also running.We are able to see the backups that took place before 4 days. i want to know the reason for this issue and the solution for this issue.

Currently we have netbackup 7.5 server running on windows 2008 server. I am trying to restore a linux client machine (opensus). Something changed over past few months which is no go with one of my new manager so without touching the existing box i would like to restore the client machine to Dec full backup. Can i clone the existing machine (vmware 5.1), shut down the current one and restore entire client machine on the clone one? Any help will be appreciated.

我已经安装一台Master Server和两台SAN Media Server，但我当为Media Server配置存储单元的时候出错，提示license不正确，存储单元创建失败。
于是我检查license，未发现“SAN Media Server”的字样，仅有"SAN Client"。
我不确定是否用错或缺失license，还是安装配置的问题？

All my backups are archive bit dependant.
Please let me know what is the difference we are backing up in Differential Inc backup and Cumulative Inc backup, if below definitions are correct.

Hi Team,
We have a server Win 2003 being backedup using NBU 7.1.0.3 and master server (Win 2008 )version of NBU is also same.
We had error like TIR info file missing backup everything in the drive so I followed http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH84583 and renamed the old files and ran a full backup.
But now that full backup has completed I cannot see the full bkp related TIR file it still created an INCR related file with procee in the end. ex : <directory>\netbackup_file_info.new.<policyname>.processnumber

All the backups is going to SLP that including one backup operation and 2 duplication operations.
Is there any way to suspend one of the duplication operation to start the duplication jobs.

Data is getting backed less than 1 TB for LTO5 Tape , previoulsy same tape has been used for backup & it has written upto 1.8 TB
The compression ratio actually achievable depends on the data being compressed. Some data has little redundancy; large video files, for example, already use compression technology and cannot be compressed further.

We are currently restoring some files. We have one folder that contains many folders and files on it. In the recory console, we are not able to see all the contents only the main folder that contains the subfolder. Actually it is a file server. We verified all the files are in the file server but we would like to restore some files in a particular folder with issues.

I am unable to uninstall NBU client 7.5 from a windows server 2008 machine. I am not getting any error messages while unistalling.
The uninstaller just pops up and then goes out. I had 7.5.0.6 patch installed as well. So first I uninstalled the patch sucessfully and then while trying to uninstall 7.5 it is not going. Any help will be appreciated.
